Wudfrd Failed to Load Error 219: Fix it Now!

In this article you will find out:

  • how to deal with this error
  • how to protect your data

Are you ready? Let's read!

Work with Drivers

Try to update incompatible drivers as follows:

Press the Win + X hotkeys and open the Device Manager application.

In the new window, all incompatible drivers will be marked with an exclamation mark.

Right-click each driver marked with an exclamation mark and select Update Driver Software. You can also update your drivers using any third-party driver update tool. Such applications usually automatically scan your computer, then update old drivers, fix broken ones, and install missing drivers.

Update OS

If updating the drivers does not fix the “driver wudfrd failed to load for the device” problem, try updating the entire operating system. Perhaps the latest update contains a fix for your error.

To do this, open the settings dialog box and select Update and Security, then click Windows Update. Now click on the Check for Updates option and let your Windows install the most recent updates.

Reboot your computer.

Work with Device Manager

Quite often, the “wudfrd failed to load for the device” problem is related to USB (Universal Serial Bus) drivers. First open the Win + X menu and selectDevice Manager. Then open USB Serial Bus Controllers and right-click each USB controller and select Remove Device. Save your changes and restart Windows, which will cause Windows to automatically reinstall the USB controllers.

Disable Hibernation Mode

The hard disk hibernation function makes it much easier for you to work at the computer, but it can cause the “\\ driver \\ wudfrd” error. In this case, you need to disable hard drive hibernation as follows:

Press the Win + X keyboard shortcut and select Power Options'. Next, click on Advanced Power Settings, then click on Change Plan Settings and select the options Change Plan Settings and Change Advanced Power Settings. Now click on Hard Drive and click on Turn Off Hard Drive. Then select the On Battery option and select the Never, Apply, and OK buttons. Restart your computer and check if the “driver wudfrd failed to load” problem persists.
