Are you ready? Let's read!

About this issue

This article will discuss the issue of“ hosted network supported on Windows 10 ”. Network problems always cause a lot of problems and troubles, since the life and work of any modern user is connected with the Internet. You will be presented with several solutions that you can try right now.

Let's deal with it

Examine your connection

First of all, check if your wireless connection is active.

Next, check if the Microsoft Hosted Network virtual network adapter is working properly.

To do this, press Windows Key + X and select the Network Connections section.

Next, find and right-click your wireless network and select Disable. After a few seconds, re-enable the wireless network connection following the same steps.

  • The next step is to check if your wireless adapter supports hosted networks as follows.
  • Run the Command Prompt utility as administrator and type netsh wlan show driver | findstr Hosted; press Enter.
  • Note the option with hosted network support.
  • If “No” is indicated, your network adapter does not support this function.
  • You should be able to fix this by downloading and installing the latest drivers for your network adapter.

If none of the above helps, change the properties of the wireless adapter.

  • To do this, open Device Manager, find your wireless adapter and open its properties.
  • Next, go to the "Advanced" tab and select the HT mode option, then in the Value menu, select Enabled.
  • Save changes and check if there is “Windows 10 hosted network supported no” issue.

Adjust system preferences

If the problem still is not solved, and change the power management settings as follows: Ontkroyte Device Manager, find and open your wireless adapter. Open its properties and go to the Power Management tab. Activate the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and save the changes.

In addition, you can change other settings:

Open network connections, right-click the desired network, and select "Properties". On the tab "Sharing", enable the following options:

  • "Establish a dial-up connection when trying to access Internet Options";
  • "Allow all network users to connect via an Internet connection using this computer."

After that, it is also recommended rebooting the system and only then check if the problem “enable hosted network support Windows 10” is still there.

Work with drivers

First, try using a different driver:

Open Device Manager and find a wireless network adapter. Open its Properties, go to the Driver tab and click Roll Back Driver. If this action is not available, click Remove. After that, restart your computer and install the old version of the driver.

After rolling back the driver, you need to prevent Windows from automatically updating the system and its components.

Need to roll back the OS? Make sure your data is safe!

DiskInternals Partition Recovery can perfectly help you recover deleted, damaged data on any disk (hard drive, flash drive, SD card, external hard drive). There is a mode for reading inaccessible files, you can safely open any protected folder and view its contents.

The app will open files of any type and size, so don't even worry about it. Also, DiskInternals Partition Recovery is compatible with many file systems: HFS, FAT32, UFS, ReFS, NTFS, etc. You can download and use a free trial version of the program; if there is no need to save the found files to another device, this version will be sufficient.

If you need to export recovered data from an old disk, you will have to buy a license (plus DiskInternals will give you nice bonuses). Therefore, this is a win-win option and, perhaps, the most affordable and effective in this time period.
